In-Person Sessions
Practice considerations given the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases and subsequent hospitalizations, the CRPO encourages College registrants to provide services by electronic means wherever reasonably possible and to use their clinical judgment to determine where in-person care is required on a case-by-case basis. As long as there is no community lockdown, in-person sessions will be available for interested clients and the psychotherapist consider it needed. Virtual sessions will still be available to all who would like to engage online. If you do not hear from us by email confirming the in-person session, please assume the session will be virtual.
– We ask that everyone self-screen and only come to the session if you are cleared by this screening to attend.
– Please stay home and email us to indicate the session will be virtual instead of in person if at all feeling unwell or symptomatic or if anyone in your immediate dwelling or work environment is unwell, symptomatic, or if you have been in contact with anyone who has recently contracted Covid-19.
– Psychotherapists will self-screen every morning and if they feel they may have symptoms or have had contact with someone with symptoms, they will send you an email in the morning indicating that the session has been changed to a virtual session.
– Please arrive on time for your session, but not early to minimize contact in the waiting area. Please wait outside until 2 minutes before your session time. – It will be mandatory to sanitize your hands upon entering the office.
– Everyone must wear a face mask inside the building, in the waiting area, and in common areas. The psychotherapist will wear a mask wherever it is not possible to distance socially and is expected the client follows the same rule.
– Washrooms are public and are cleaned by the building management. please use your discretion when using them.
– All high contact surfaces (door handles, hooks) will be regularly sanitized throughout the day.
-Ancaster Psychotherapy believes strongly in self-responsibility so we will trust that you will decide for yourself if these protocols feel safe enough for you to join in an in-person session and your request for in-person sessions indicates that you are comfortable with these protocols.

Cancellations
If your session is canceled by Ancaster Psychotherapy, you have the priority to choose the day and time of the session in the same week. Wherever possible, you will be contacted at least 24 hs before the start date of the session if a cancellation is made.
Packages Sessions canceled by clients
It is required to change or cancel a session, 24 hs notice to avoid being charged. Failure to give sufficient notice will result in a charge of the full amount of the reserved session or the use of the session included in the package session.
Due to Inclement Weather
There will be no cancellation charge in sessions due to a snow storm or the occurrence of other natural weather disasters that create a state of emergency or power outage in the city.
Cancellations and Lateness
Missed and canceled sessions pose some issues for both of us. First, the work of psychotherapy is sometimes challenging and when we hit a difficult place together, it can feel easier to want to avoid coming in for treatment. I would prefer we speak about this intentionally rather than you canceling sessions. Also, I hold your scheduled appointment time specifically for you and you alone. I also see a limited number of patients so that I can give you the focus and attention you deserve.
If you are running late for your appointment, please phone or email me as soon as you can to let me know you will be late. If I do not hear from you by 15 minutes into your session, I will call to check on you. If you are late for your session, we will still end at our regular time so that I have time to prepare for my next appointments and I can be on time for them.
